Visiting the Andersons in MN
On our recent trip to Minnesota and Wisconsin, we had the pleasure of visiting with my college roommate and good buddy, Michelle, and her husband and four beautiful daughters. (Now, she is a busy woman with three girls under two and a tween!) Oh, we had fun! The only negative was that we didn't have more time to catch up and visit! Thanks, Andersons!
Rainy Cereal
Several days in a row Micah made the comment at breakfast, "Mommy, it's raining in my cereal." I could not figure out what he was talking about until the morning that he instead said, "Shh, listen. It's raining in my cereal." It then dawned on me that the cereal was making a popping noise that sounded to him like the rain. How descriptive is that? It does sound a bit like rain, doesn't it?
For those faithful Moments with Micah readers, note that blueberries remain the food of choice at breakfast. I think this kick has lasted almost a year now!

Shoe Trains
This is pretty creative for a kid who is not yet two years old. Micah decided one afternoon that his daddy's shoes were choo-choo-trains and the dinosaur (and later Elmo, after all, shoes come in a pair) were passengers.
There are pictures of fruit on one side of three of these blocks. Micah would line these up and have the dinosaur eat dinner. "Umm-numm-numm!"
