Superhero Party

Micah attended his first costume party on Sunday, January 29th. Paul Gary, one of our ICS colleages turned 34, so he and his wife threw a party at the Hospitality House. It was a superhero party. Each person dressed up as their own superhero. Among others, there was The "Purse"inator, Captian Insomnia, Laura Forner was Super Foreigner complete with neck pillow and backpack, The Jogger, and SuperVision. Hopefully I can get some folks to send me some more pics, but here we are - General Fire (the power of methane), Private Kicker and Power Duff Girl ("Oh sit!"). Look closely for the pillow in my pants that made my booty a bit big!

Micah was entranced by Mystery Woman!

Fourth Month Milestones

Micah turned 4 months old on January 16th. We went to the doctor that day for more vaccinations. He was 7.9 kg (17+) pounds and 27 1/2 inches long. He got two injections and did not cry. I told him that he did a good job. The Korean nurse was so cute. She told Micah, "Good job", too. She was so impressed with his bravery.
The Newtons (Jeremy works at ICS with Britt and they have 3 boys.) kindly passed on their exersaucer. Micah loves it! He can stand up to play. He loved the swing for a while because he could sit and play, but this is definately a step up! We captured his first moments in the exersaucer.
He figured out how to get the teething toys in his mouth within a matter of minutes.
He certainly expressed his excitement; he just didn't use words.

Saturday and Sunday, January 21st and 22nd Micah learned how to roll from his back to his tummy. He's mobile! He's really reaching for toys much more deliberately now.

The drooling continues, but there are no teeth yet.

Micah has also started very gently touching our faces and cooing and talking to us. I captured a very sweet moment between Micah and Britt.

Coming soon: pictures of his first solid food experiences.

Is there more on the bib or in his tummy?

Insadong Adventure

Insadong is an artsy shopping district in Seoul.

There was an art display that we enjoyed...

...especially our friend Steve.

Jason and Shane were visiting from Atlanta. Here's Shane, Britt's littlest sister. Jason is the photographer. Can you see his shadow?

We stopped at Starbucks to warm up for a spell. This is the only Starbucks in Korea with the Starbucks sign in Hangul (Korean characters).

Micah hung out all day in his front pack.

I think he was pretty cozy in there.

We stopped at the music mart on the way home. There were many little vendors selling all different kinds of musical instruments and equiptment.

There was a great view of Seoul Tower from the Seoul Station, where we caught a train back to our neck of the woods.

Here's Micah with Shane and her boyfriend Jason, the photographer. He needed to be pictured in this blog, so . . . here he is! They both have sites, too. Check them out:

All Dressed Up for Christmas

Christmas Day

Britt and I had fun helping Micah open gifts on his first Christmas morning.

a toy from Nana & Pop Mooney
another from the ICS staff

He really liked this gold paper. It made a fun crinkling noise.
Here are gifts from Aunt Andrea

and a card from Oma & Opa Schneider.

What's in there?
